The Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1966. The mission of the Queens Council on the Arts is to foster and develop the arts in Queens County and to support individual artists and arts organizations in presenting their cultural diversity for the benefit of the community. QCA is now part of the Kaufman Arts District in Astoria, Queens.

Queens Council on the Arts was established in 1966.
What is your primary product or service?
QCA has grown into a wide-ranging arts service organization providing grants, professional development, and education services. In recent years, QCA has innovated a wide variety of programming and events, including Project Diversity Queens, the Individual and Teaching Artist Initiatives, and the Arts in the Schools grant program. Since its inception, QCA has awarded more than $2,000,000 in grants to artists and arts organizations; provided arts education to more than a million Queens schoolchildren; and produced and presented hundreds of exhibitions as well as guides, brochures, and maps of art sites in Queens. Currently, our workshops, our website, and our TV broadcasts reach more than 300,000 people every year.

• Take the M (weekdays only) or R to Steinway Street. Use the 34th Avenue exit near the end of train. Walk south along Steinway Street; turn right on 35th Avenue, then turn right on 37th Street.

• Take the G (weekdays only) to LIC-Court Square/45th Road. Transfer via underground tunnel to the M train at Court Square/23rd Street-Ely Avenue and proceed to Steinway Street.
• Take the Q (weekdays only) or the N to 36th Avenue (Astoria). Walk one block north to 35th Avenue. Turn right and walk onto 37th Street.
• Take the R to Steinway Street. Use the 34th Avenue exit near the end of train. Walk south along Steinway Street; turn right on 35th Avenue then turn right on 37th Street.
From Eastern Queens
• Take the 7 to 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Walk downstairs to the E and R lines. Take the Manhattan- or Brooklyn-bound R to Steinway Street. Use the 34th Avenue exit near front of the train. Walk south along Steinway Street; turn right on 35th Avenue, then turn right on 37th Street.

From Manhattan
• Q101 (departs between 60th and 61st Street and Second Avenue around-the-clock every fifteen to 30 minutes) to 35th Avenue in Astoria. Walk west on 35th Avenue to 37th Street
From Flushing
• Q66 "21st Street" to Steinway Street and 35th Avenue. Walk west on 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.

From Manhattan via Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge
• Lower roadway: Exit onto Northern Boulevard (NY 25A) and follow it to 35th Street; turn left onto 35th Street. Proceed to 35th Avenue and turn right onto 37th Street.
• Upper roadway: Follow signs to 21st Street. Turn right onto 21st Street and proceed to 35th Avenue. Turn right onto 35th Avenue and turn right onto 37th Street.
From Upper Manhattan and the Bronx via the RFK/Triborough Bridge
• Exit at 31st Street (the first exit in Queens). Turn right onto 31st Street (under the elevated subway) and proceed to 35th Avenue, turn left onto 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.
From Eastern Queens and Long Island via Grand Central Parkway
• Exit at 31st Street, exit #45 (the last exit before the RFK/Triborough Bridge), and immediately get into the left lane. Turn left onto 31st Street (under the elevated subway) turn left onto 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.
From Westchester and Connecticut via the Bronx Whitestone Bridge
• Follow the Whitestone Expressway to the Grand Central Parkway (westbound). Exit at 31st Street, exit #45 (the last exit before the RFK/Triborough Bridge), and get into the left lane. Turn left onto 31st Street (under the elevated subway), turn left onto 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.
From Northern New Jersey via the George Washington Bridge
• Take the Harlem River Drive to the RFK/Triborough Bridge. Exit at 31st Street (first exit in Queens). Turn right onto 31st Street (under the elevated subway), turn left onto 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.
From Brooklyn
• Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway east to Northern Boulevard. Exit and turn left (westbound) on to Northern Boulevard and proceed to 35th Avenue (which intersects at a 45 degree angle). Turn right onto 35th Avenue and proceed to 37th Street.
From Greenpoint, Brooklyn
• Cross the Pulaski Bridge. Make a right onto Jackson Avenue and continue until it becomes Northern Boulevard. Proceed along Northern Boulevard to 37th Street and turn left. Proceed to 35th Avenue.
